Tube block: Causes, symptoms and treatment

Introduction

Tube Block Symptoms are generally observed in people who are above 70 years of age. This problem may take place due to indigestion, asthma, infection in lungs or stomach. The tube which carry digested food waste to outside body through intestines gets blocked causing difficulty to pass food matter through alimentary canal. This condition is more commonly found in men than women.

Symptoms

You will notice a tube block when you are unable to have a bowel movement. You may also have severe abdominal cramps that make you feel like your stomach is hard or lumpy. Other common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and inability to pass gas or urine. You may develop a fever of 102°F or higher if tube block causes an infection in your colon. Abdominal tenderness can also occur after eating due to irritation from food passing through your intestines. 

Tube block symptoms vary depending on what caused it. The most common cause of tube block is consuming too much fiber without enough water. Fiber cannot be properly digested unless you drink enough water while ingesting it, and especially if you add it to food that has been cooked first. If too much fiber enters your large intestine undigested, it can cause constipation by blocking off part of your intestinal system until everything has passed along its normal pathway.

Causes

Tube Block (Urinary Tract Infection) is caused by bacteria in urine. If it is not treated on time causes severe complications. This infection can also be spread to female reproductive system that cause STD's & infertility. Most common bacteria that causes Tube Block are E. coli, Proteus mirabilis , Klebsiella pneumonia , Enterococci . These bacteria releases enzymes that dissolve uroepithelium of urinary tract & damage cells of urinary bladder & kidneys.

Treatments

Once you have been diagnosed with tube blockage it is time to begin finding ways to treat your illness. The first treatment most doctors will recommend is rest. You may need several weeks or even months of total rest in order to allow your body to fully heal. Doctors also may prescribe antibiotics for tube block in order to prevent any infections from forming as well as other medications in order to reduce fever and pain levels.
